After starting off the season with two losses, the Chargers hit the road on Saturday and traveled to Smithfield, RI to take on the Bryant University Bulldogs. The tough matchup resulted in a 3-0 loss for New Haven.

The first goal scored came from Bryant’s Emily Supple, who scored off a penalty kick almost eight minutes into the game. Supple also assisted the second goal for the Bulldogs, scored by Ava Feeley. The third and final goal came from Supple once again and was assisted by Alisyn Mulholland.

The Chargers tallied three shots on goal during the away match, with Bryant recording 10. Two of the shots for New Haven came from sophomore midfielder Layla Coppola, with the other coming off junior defender Janayah Body. Goalkeeper Caitlin Daley had a strong performance in the goal for New Haven, saving seven of the 10 shots from the Bulldogs’ offense.
The Chargers will travel to Poughkeepsie, NY, looking for their first win of the season against the Marist University Red Foxes.
