Women’s Tennis Opens Spring with Loss at Le Moyne

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The University of New Haven women’s tennis team opened the 2012 spring season on Sunday at Le Moyne College. The Chargers fell 0-9 to the Dolphins. UNH also fell to 0-8 overall and 0-8 in the Northeast-10 Conference with the loss, while the Dolphines improved to 2-8 overall and 2-7 in conference play.

In No. 6 singles, Jessica MacPhee gave the Chargers their best shot at winning a point as she forced a third set tie-break. She fell 10-5 in the deciding set. Nan Sirihorachai (Plainsboro, N.J./West Windsor-Plainsboro North) suffered a pair of 6-4 losses in No. 3 singles to also come close to earning a set.
