Women Place 15th at Cross Country Regionals, Stasulli Named All-Region

BOSTON, Mass. – The University of New Haven women’s cross country team finished in 15th place Sunday at the NCAA Division II East Region Championship. With 372 points and a total time of 2:05:38 the Chargers were led by a junior Dominique Stasulli (Shenandoah, Pa./Shenandoah).

Stasulli posted a 25th place finish with a time of 23:47.1, averaging a 6:23 mile. Danielle Sorrentino (Staten Island, N.Y./Port Richmond) was second on the team with a time of 25:00.2 in 68th place. Aimee Beaudette (Canton, N.Y./H.C. Williams) was third on the team and 84th overall with a time of 25:22.0. Alejandra Cortez (Riverside, Calif./Norte Vista) was fourth on the team in 97th place with a time of 25:43.4, while Bridget Faria (East Meadow, N.Y./East Meadow) was fifth on the time and 98th overall with a time of 25:46.0. Tania Bernardino (Kearny, N.J./Kearny) was sixth with a time of 25:58.7.

With her top 25 finish, Stasulli earned All-Region honors in the meet as well.

The Chargers concluded their 2011 fall season with the regional championship.
