Back to school already? It seems like the summer flew by, and finals were just a few short weeks ago. There are so many new faces around campus and plenty of old ones too. Everyone is getting used to the flow of things around UNH. Now that everyone is settled in and starting their classes, SCOPE has many exciting things planned for you to do.
Monday, everyone was able to express their creative side decorating treasure chests to add some style to their dorms, while also giving the room more life with bamboo. A childish side came out as well with a giant slide and trampoline for everyone to enjoy. On top of all of that, all the popcorn and cotton candy you wanted to eat was available. It was definitely a fun way to spend Labor Day.
Tuesday was full of entertainment. The Hangover 2 had everyone laughing in Dodds Theater. The first Beanhouse of the year brought some new talent with the new faces on Tuesday as well. Be sure to come back again each month to see who else we have performing.
Today, Wednesday September 5, everyone has a chance to win a few supplies for their dorm room and for classes at our event called Cash Cube. Come see what prizes you can catch on. Cash Cube will be on the Bartels Student Activity Center (BSAC) Stage by the Quad at 12:30 p.m.
Thursday should also be filled with even more laughs when Dan Ahdoot performs in Dodds theatre. This comedian has been seen on the Last Comic Standing and the Jay Leno Show. Come laugh the night away starting at 7 p.m.
Additionally, if you missed the showing of the Hangover 2 on Tuesday or just want to see it again, it will be playing in Bartels at 9:00 p.m. on Friday night.
Finally, no one is going to want to miss Double Dare on Saturday. All the teams will be challenged with both physical and mental obstacles. Plus everyone can enjoy a little slime. There will be prizes for the winning teams and a great time for everyone. Other students not participating can watch Double Dare while enjoying cotton candy and snow cones.
Our events for next week include our movie of the week Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides in Bartels at 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday and Friday.
Stay tuned for more exciting events SCOPE has planned for you this semester. If you want to be part of SCOPE, you can pick up an application to become a Committee Head. The applications will be due on September 9, 2011. If you want to join, but you don’t want to be a Committee Head, you can still attend our weekly meetings every Wednesday in K109 at 9:30 p.m. to become a general member.
