Of course, this week there was a truck load of events going, and somewhere in there, SCOPE had some great events going on as well.
Wednesday was a busy day for SCOPE. Day Programming put on an event during the day and Special Events had an event that went on later that night. Day Programming had three great programs all jammed into one day. You could have gotten your picture taken and made into a coloring page. There were also mug shots photos that were then printed onto mugs. They were really cool, and everybody loved them. There was also spin art hats. Each student that participated could decorate their own hat and then spin it to see the paint fly.
That night, there was also an event. Special Events co-sponsored with the UNH Green team and had Decorate Your Own Recycling Bins. The members of Green team, SCOPE, and other students came and painted their recycling bins. Everybody had great ideas and did a fantastic job. Everybody had fun and walked away with a great reason to start (or continue) recycling there plastics, paper, bottles, and cans.
Weekends also put on some great events that drew record breaking crowds. On Friday, they had their PJ Party where you could stuff one of their numerous stuffed animal options, make a pillow, and get some ice cream. They had bears, horses, alligators, ducks, pigs, penguins, turtles, polar bears, giraffes, and dogs. There were more options when you had to choose your pillow. A lot of students walked away with a new friend.
On Saturday, students were astonished by the capabilities of The Evasons. They are a husband and wife team that travel around the country, and the wife reads peoples mind. She could cite numbers from a person’s license or a random bill. She could give you an exact description of a piece of jewelry and more. It was a fantastic show, and everyone that came couldn’t believe that she was that good.
There will be more great events this weekend when Weekends co-sponsors with Comedy/Lecture to go to the comedy club The Funny Bone and brings comedian Nikki Glaser to Dodds on Saturday at 7:30 p.m.
Of course we can’t forget Film. Last week’s movie was Tron, starring Jeff Bridges. It was a great movie about family and getting the people you love back; it also had some great action scenes. This week’s movie is Little Fockers; as usual, it will be in the Bartels Café at 9:00 p.m.
