Roughly 2,600 gallons of oil spilled Thursday on Forest Road near campus after a car collided with a full oil tanker. A campus public safety officer at a nearby crosswalk saw the crash and called 911. Personnel from the state’s Department of Energy and Environmental Protection and Department of Transportation, as well as the Coast Guard responded. The road was closed until Friday afternoon. The driver of the car had minor injuries; the truck driver refused medical care.
