Dear Melanie,
I have been gaining so much weight since I came to college. Seriously, I did not think the Freshman 15 was real, but apparently it is, and I’ve gained so much weight. What do I do? I feel like I am the only one who is gaining weight. I mean, I always get the fried foods at the dining halls – the mozzarella sticks, the cheese fries, the chicken tenders. I indulge a lot. What do I do? I am worried that I will never lose the 25 pounds that I have gained.
Worried Wendy
Hey – the Freshman 15 happens to the best of us! If you want to lose weight, try getting healthier options at the dining halls. I know that there isn’t much of a selection, but you can try having grilled chicken wraps or salads more often! That’s not to say you can’t eat junk food every now and then! It’s college – all students want to do it lay in bed, watch Netflix, eat snacks and order pizza at 2:00 a.m. on Saturday night. By all means, do it! But you should start going to the gym! Take advantage of the amazing Rec Center that we have. We get to go to the gym for free! So do it! Get a routine going and make healthier eating choices!
XOXO,
Melanie
