Chef Jeffry Trombetta, adjunct Hospitality and Tourism professor at the University of New Haven, is now featured on eHow’s YouTube page for his home-style recipes.
The webpage features 18 recipes that one can create in their own kitchen by simply watching the how-to videos. Each segment was filmed at Chef Trombetta’s home in Guildford, Conn. The videos include how-to’s on several different chicken recipes such as Chicken and Cheese Black Bean Soup and Chicken and Sausage Stuffing.
“I decided to do a chicken theme the first time,” he said. “I simply picked menu items that I liked and that I thought would be practical to set up and show on video. Then I wrote the recipes for the items I picked.”
Filming was not as glamorous as expected. Ten of the segments were filmed in one day. The entire process, taking around 19 hours, included choosing and creating a recipe, shopping for ingredients with show producers, cleaning and organizing the kitchen for a smooth segment and finally cooking the food.
Despite the long hours, Chef Trombetta remains hopeful and positive about his YouTube videos. “Filming for the Internet is a great experience because you feel you are cooking for yourself,” he said. “It’s a small, comfortable environment, but the results are open to the world. I hope many viewers will benefit and learn from the segments.”
Students of Hospitality and Tourism Management should head over to eHow Food on YouTube and see which recipes they can try!
