You can’t believe it—you have just gotten the internship of your dreams, and you are only a sophomore! Quickly, you call every important person in your life to let them know. Except…you still feel more people should know! This is a big accomplishment, after all. There has got to be another way…
Well, now there is another way, with Charger Tales. Charger Tales is a way to spread the word of your accomplishments throughout campus and beyond, whether they are big or small.
Charger Tales was started by Andrew Mayer, the Office Coordinator of the Office of Student Activities, Michelle Demery, the Office Coordinator of the Career Development Center, and Matt DiGiovanni, the Virtual Technology Coordinator at the CDC, with the idea of celebrating the students, faculty and staff members of UNH in mind.
“We started Charger Tales as a collaboration of OSA and CDC at the end of last semester,” said Mayer. “We wanted to create an outlet to highlight student success stories.”
“We’re currently trying to advertise it more, by sending out emails and fixing up the website. We’re also giving out incentives to submit stories. Every person who submits before Feb. 22 will be entered into a drawing to win a gift card,” Mayer added. Anyone who submits a story will be put into the drawing for each story they send in, meaning your name can be in the drawing as many times as you send in a story.
These success stories are received and edited by Mayer and Demery, and are put up on the website by DiGiovanni.
Students are encouraged to submit their success stories to Charger Tales, but they are not the only ones. Submissions are also welcomed from faculty and staff members. Charger Tales is a way for many professors to highlight the research they have been doing in their fields.
“Charger Tales is good for students and good for the University itself,” said DiGiovanni. “It showcases our students’ talents and gives an opportunity for students who are representing UNH a chance to be noticed.”
Submitting your Charger Tale is easy—write up a success story and submit it through email to [email protected]. Don’t forget to check out their Twitter page—twitter.com/chargertales.
