The Game
That time of the year is here again! Are you ready for some football? Super Bowl XLVII is upon us and it takes place at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, NJ, Sunday, Feb. 2, at 6:30 p.m.
The game will be televised on FOX with Joe Buck and Troy Aikman calling the game. Erin Andrews and Pam Oliver will be on the sidelines. Peyton Manning and the AFC Champion Denver Broncos take on Russell Wilson and NFC Champion Seattle Seahawks in the first outdoor, cold weather Super Bowl.
Peyton Manning comes into New Jersey with a high-powered offense that very few teams have been able to shut down this season. He has put his critics in the rearview mirror and led his team to the Super Bowl after being upset by the Ravens in last year’s Divisional Round. This will be Manning’s third Super Bowl appearance (the previous two with the colts, winning one of them).
The Seahawks come into the Super Bowl with the top ranked defense in the NFL, but Seattle will have to overcome the fact they won’t have home-field advantage, which they have relied heavily on the last few seasons. Ultimately, the Broncos offense should overpower the Seahawks’ top defense. Expect the game to be close with the Broncos prevailing in this highly anticipated matchup. Prediction: Denver 24 Seattle 20
Performers
The pregame show will feature Phillip Phillips and The Band Perry. Opera singer Renée Fleming will perform the Star-Spangled Banner. Bruno Mars will headline the halftime show, and The Red Hot Chili Peppers will join Mars on the field.
