Gilmore Girls fans rejoice! Our favorite fast paced, coffee loving girls are coming back and so are a majority of the other amazing Stars Hollows favorites we all love. Every day, more stars sign to return to the show. With the passing of Edward Herrmann (Richard Gilmore) in December 2014, Kelly Bishop (Emily Gilmore) is prepared to return to the show as a widow, still as sassy as we all remember. Also signed to return, other than the obvious Lauren Graham and Alexis Bledel, are our favorite Lorelai exes, Scott Patterson (Luke Danes) and David Sutchliffe ( Christopher Hayden)—because what would Stars Hollow be without them?
Lorelai isn’t the only one with love interests returning; Rory’s past flames that are set to return include Yale boyfriend Logan Huntzberger (Matt Czuchry), misunderstood Jess Mariano (Milo Ventimiglia), and her first boyfriend Dean Forrester (Jared Padalecki).
Other Stars Hollow favorites we are going to see are Paris Geller (Liza Weil) and her boyfriend Dolye (Danny Strong); Dragonfly Inn favorite Michel Gerard (Yunic Truesdale); and of course Babbette and Miss Patty (Sally Struthers and Liz Torres).
Rory’s long time best friend Lane Kim (Keiko Agena) is also plans to return with her on-screen husband Zach (Todd Lowe) with their twins Steve and Kwan. Lane’s mother, the super strict Mrs. Kim portrayed by Emily Kuroda also recently signed to return to Stars Hollow.
Causing uproar among fans in the return of Vanessa Marano as April Nardini as Luke’s Daughter and Sherilyn Fenn as Anna Nardini, her mother. Fans often credit her as the reason for majority of the tension between Luke and Lorelai during their relationship and are speculating how they will fit into the revival.
There have also been new characters announced, since it has been nine years since we said goodbye to Rory as she went to follow Senator Obama on his campaign trail. New characters include “Phil,” played by Mark Provencher, a new Dragonfly employee portrayed by Armand Vasquez, a 7-year-old boy named Tim and his 5-year -old sister, Gabriela, that are thought to be Paris and Doyle’s children, and Sutton Foster, from creator Amy Sherman- Palladino’s other show, Bunheads, was recently signed as an unknown character.
Of course, everyone is wondering about Melissa McCarthy, and if she will be returning as Sookie St. James. Sherman- Palladino told TVLine in the beginning of February that she understands McCarthy is busy and that even if “she has a spare moment to run over (to the set), even for a cameo, we would totally be game.” However, McCarthy claims that she was never approached about returning, so fans will need to wait to see what happens.
