Chris Schnabel: Player of the week, how does it feel to get this honor, knowing you were awarded it because of your high level of play?
Anthony Greenfield: “Feels pretty good, especially being a punter, they’re not really recognized for their football play as much as other positions. It’s an honor”
CS: The team played their best Saturday. What aspect of the game did the Chargers improve to make this game so much different than the last?
AG: “Preparation. We practiced a lot harder, a lot more focused and I think losing that first game put our season in prospective.”
CS: You have five punts for 249 yard, which all together adds to almost 50 yards per punt (49.80) what gets you prepared to get in the game and be so consistent?
AG: “Practicing. Coach Daleen set high goals for us, sets high goals for me. It makes practice harder for me so the game is more relaxed and more fluid.”
CS: Speaking of consistency you are 9-9 on extra points, is it a hard transition going from making a punt to an extra point of field goal?
AG: “Yeah it was for me. It was a long off-season trying to teach myself how to kick. I grew a lot over camp.”
CS: You had two kicks within 20 yards, how does it feel to get that coffin-corner kick? What is the correct reaction to that?
AG: “Satisfied, that’s what you should do, that’s your job.”
CS: You had one of the best plays of the day, if not the play of the day, Saturday with the fake field goal throw for a touchdown. What was your thought when called that play?
AG: “Just execute it. Just execute what we practiced all week.”
CS: How did it feel when you were about to toss and the line was coming at you?
AG: “I felt the pressure, definitely felt pressure, but I just knew to throw it up there; let something happen instead of getting sacked. Throw and pray.”
CS: What was your reaction to it being called a touchdown?
AG: “One of the most exciting times of my life.”
