The brothers of New Haven Delta Chi are ready for the last few weeks of the semester to be chock full of exciting and fun events. Last weekend the brothers attended their Regional Leadership Conference at Cornell and won many awards including most members in attendance and best chapter in the New England Region. Many brothers participated in the workshops offered including financial management and better recruitment practices. Next year, the New Haven Chapter will be awarded the honor of hosting the RLC in New Haven and is look forward to involving the campus next year.
The last month of school will be very busy for the chapter, with many brotherhood, social, and community service events to come. The brothers will be hosting their annual American Red Cross Blood Drive to assist in the blood bank for Connecticut. The Blood Drive will be Apr. 21 and 22 from 10:45 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. in the German Club. Sign-ups will be all this week and the beginning of next week in the Bartels Student Center. The brothers will be participating in the Jimmy V 3 on 3 basketball tournament this week and will be hosting a Pudding Tug-O-War event on May 1 at North Campus. All proceeds will be donated to the Jimmy V Foundation.
As Greek Week came to end last week, the brotherhood enjoyed participating in all the events from the eating contest to the penny wars. Despite losing their reign as champs, Delta Chi still enjoyed every event! On Apr. 17, the brothers will be hosting their annual Active vs. Alumni Softball Game and will be in Painter’s Park in West Haven, and look forward to all the alumni from the surrounding area to join.
As the month comes to an end, over 10 brothers will be participating in the Graduation Ceremony on May 16 at North Campus, and look forward to becoming very active alumni for both the fraternity and the school community.
