Charlie Sheen is the biggest celebrity in the news right now. The actor has appeared in several interviews in the past few weeks, making increasingly disparaging and bizarre remarks about himself, the network executives who he worked under, and the media.
For example, the Two and a Half Men star has claimed that the network executives he works under have been underpaying him, giving him $2 million per episode of Men instead of the $3 million he feels he deserves. Sheen has also claimed that he has “tiger blood” that has kept him alive following his hospitalization from “a drug filled night with porn stars” in January. He has even gone so far as to start a “Tiger Blood Intern” position managing his social media networks, which over 74,000 people applied for.
CBS and Warner Brothers eventually responded by firing Sheen from Two and a Half Men. He has responded by suing the networks for $100 million for breach of contract. Despite this, Sheen insists that he is “winning,” a term he has used frequently to describe himself, his actions, and pretty much everything else related to his life.
Well, Charlie Sheen now wants everyone to know that his scheduled set of appearances next month, which he announced earlier this month via Twitter, have sold out. No details have been released about the shows themselves, except that they are being called “Charlie Sheen Live: My Violent Torpedo of Truth” and that they have apparently needed to add more shows from the initial two to accommodate everyone’s interest.
The actor initially tweeted the news “Fastball; Detroit/Chicago sold out in minutes… Thanks to Sheen’s Cadre..!” and confirmation came from Sheen spokesman Larry Solters. As much as people have condemned Sheen’s words and actions publicly, this shows how much interest he has generated recently as a result. And maybe it confirms the old idea that there’s no such thing as bad publicity. In any case, one thing is certain; at least for the time being, Charlie Sheen is still winning.
