Postives
40-50 degree weather multiple days in a row? I’ll take it—even if it means going to class. Nice pattern we had going, unfortunately, more snow is on the way.
Congratulations to Ski and Snowboard club on their Penguin Plunge fundraiser. On Feb. 23, many students braved the waters of the sound and ran in to raise money for autism. From experience, the warm temperature of the air outside definitely didn’t translate to the water.
Negatives
Good to keep in mind that UNH closes for flurries but stays open for full-fledged blizzards á la Feb. 18. Time to invest in a solid pair of boots for the trek from Forest Hills.
When clubs don’t email people with news, but expect them to check Facebook for meeting times and events. I guess the UNH students who do check their school email thoroughly are part of the minority. Now do I have solid reasons to go on Facebook instead of doing homework?
Battery Charge
UNH is taking things another step further in regards to sustainability. Jessica Zielinski helped start a chapter of the nonprofit organization PLAN on campus. The goal in mind is to hold a huge tag sale at the end of the school year for students who want to get rid of furniture/clothing/décor. Other students can stop by the sale and by gently used items for a few bucks. Be on the lookout for updates!
