A Milford woman has been arrested after she left her 8-year old child outside waiting for the bus even though there was a school delay.
The incident happened Jan. 29. Police say the child was outside for 45 minutes unsupervised in 16-degree weather. According to police, the child was flagging down cars to get a ride because he was so cold.
Milford Public Schools had a 90 minute delay that day because of the weather, but the child’s mother claimed she did not know about the delay. As a result, Ronni Cruz, 34, was charged with risk of injury.
The child was examined by medical personnel and is now in DCF custody.
