Always check the small things.
This rule I got from Colin Powell. It is an important rule because in life we easily focus on the “big picture” and forget that for the big picture to turn out successful, it takes the culmination of a lot of small things. In the end, the success of the “big picture” may depend on a lot of small things all going correctly. For example, when going on a trip we always check to make sure that we have the important things like money, passports and cellphones. But sometimes we forget to check the small things, like seeing if you packed the cell phone charger or making sure your passport is not expired. It is things like this that should remind you always check the small stuff because you never know what can go wrong.
