We’re back! The Financial Aid Office’s group of Federal Work Study student workers, also known as “The Feds,” is back and ready to start the new school year right. What are “The Feds?” They are a group of Federal Work Study students whose job is to keep UNH students informed about financial aid. We will be reaching out to students to answer their most pressing questions about financial aid and to keep everyone updated on important financial aid information, such as important deadlines.
My name is Shannon Tilly, and I am one of the Federal Work Study students working in the Financial Aid Office. I will be writing articles for the newspaper, along with making sure that important announcements are heard on the radio station. I will also be searching for outside scholarships for the different majors on campus and posting them in the financial aid office.
Marissa Lewis is also a Federal Work Study student in the Financial Aid Office and will be primarily working on creating the flyers that will be posted in the different buildings on campus, along with the table top tents in the dining hall. She will also be assisting in the outside scholarship searches.
Erika Williams, the third Federal Work Study student working in the office, is in charge of updating the Financial Aid Facebook Group. Students can find us on Facebook by searching University of New Haven-Financial Aid Office. You can also e-mail The Feds at anytime at [email protected]. Please note this e-mail address is monitored by students and personal information should not be sent here.
Financial aid? What does that mean? What do I have to do in order to receive financial aid from UNH? Where is the Financial Aid Office? How do I find out about scholarships? How will I be notified about what is going on in the Financial Aid Office? These are only a few of the frequently asked questions by the current and perspective students of the University of New Haven, and we are here to give you the answers!
Students should keep an eye out for flyers that will be posted around campus with important information about financial aid. For example, the Financial Aid Office will be putting up posters to remind UNH students of how important it is to file their FAFSA “on time” for the 2012-2013 academic year. Reminders will be sent out via e-mail, so it is very important that students regularly check their UNH e-mail. All financial aid communication will be sent to YOUR UNH e-mail, so feel free to forward the information to your parents!
If anyone has any questions regarding financial aid, our office is located in Maxcy Hall, Room 118B, so stop by and we will be happy to help you! You can also e-mail us regarding information you see in the newspaper, hear on the radio, see on posters or flyers around campus, or read on Facebook at anytime at [email protected] .
