UNH will join more than 70 educational institutions worldwide on Thursday, Feb. 28, to participate in the first-ever Student Engagement and Philanthropy Day organized by the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE). The goal of the program, which will take place at institutions in the United States, England, South Africa and Australia, is to educate students about the importance of philanthropy and grow engagement opportunities on campuses.

From 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. a table will be set up in Bartels Hall, the campus center, where students can write thank-you notes that will be sent to alumni and friends of the University or tape thank-you messages.

UNH relies on philanthropic support to provide funding for scholarships, experiential learning and hands-on research opportunities, classroom resources and campus facility improvements.

“We are very excited about the chance for our students to show their appreciation for the opportunities that have been made possible by the generosity of alumni and friends of the University,” said Marya Neary, associate director of the Annual Fund. “A simple thank-you note from a student to a donor is one of the most meaningful ways that members of the University community can express their gratitude.”

The first 150 students who participate will receive a reusable UNH spirit cup. Students can also enter raffles to win prizes. Members of the campus community are asked to wear blue or yellow on Thursday to show their Charger pride.
