The Positives:
I have to say that the Open House on Sunday, April 3, 2011 was a lot of fun. I know most students don’t like these events because it jams things up for the day. But think of it this way; most of us went to one of these events when we where applying, so why not let these kids have their day as well?
The weather seems to finally be getting into warmer temperatures, which is great for all of us. I think we can all agree that the good weather and being able to wear less clothing comes at a good time. “A Day without Shoes” was this Tuesday, and it is an event that I wholeheartedly embrace every year (and everyday if I can).
The Negatives:
I heard that the university may be planning to change the parking policy for next year. So, keep a look out.
I believe that my biggest complaint this week is going to be about the sheer number of stupid people that I have seen around. It seems like they are coming out of the woodwork! Will everyone please do me a favor? Please use your brains!
The Battery Charge:
My prime example will be something that happened during the Open House on Sunday. The buses that were being used for the day were taking up one whole side of the street between the Rec center and Botwinik. However, someone, against their better judgment, decided to park in the middle of the road, blocking it off completely so that other traffic could not get through. This was also while he talked on his cell phone, apparently “waiting for someone.” He could have instead of pulled up to the parking lot 10 feet ahead of him. He then had the audacity to give me an attitude when I questioned him about it. This person he was waiting for did not show up for another 15 minutes.
