The Positives:
I don’t know about the rest of you, but I have thoroughly enjoyed the snow outside. It’s been white, fluffy, and magical in its abilities to get classes cancelled. It also instills the ability to have snowball fights and to dig unsanctioned snow tunnels that are frowned upon by campus police.
Accepted Students’ Day has come and gone, and though I know a lot of people dislike the hassle of them, I must admit that I rather enjoy seeing all those soon to be UNH students. It’s also fun impressing upon them some of the virtues that they should keep in mind before they arrive.
The Negatives:
I have to say I find it hilarious when people carry chips on their shoulder from perceived slights from days past. Really people? We are grown-ups now, so put on your big boy pants and get over yourselves; it’s nothing personal, so stop treating it like it was.
I must admit I am rather disappointed with UNH and its response to the snow this past week. I walked outside at 10 a.m., and there was no one shoveling things out for the most part. Then, how did you expect students to move their cars in two hours before the towing was supposed to begin, especially when very few people own their own shovel? Luckily for me, I had one. Also, unlike anyone working for UNH, I helped shovel out 14 cars.
The Battery Charge:
I never understood why people hold on to perceived slights for so long. I myself have been rejected for things or not gotten my way on certain others, but I don’t make it a personal vendetta to try and badmouth those particular people. I find it even funnier when these chip holders start badmouthing the wrong group, especially if it’s the group that actually supported them or were in their favor to begin with. It just makes everyone realize how much of an idiot they are.
