Here’s what has happened this past week:
Students put their ping pong skills to the test on Friday, April 13 as they battled it out to see who was the Ping Pong Master. Despite the Friday the 13th ‘hoax,’ everyone did a great job.
Later on Friday night, SCOPE had their annual Friday night movie. Last week, the movie was Young Adult starring Charlize Theron, Patrick Wilson, and Patton Oswalt.
On Saturday, April 14, SCOPE, along with the Sports Industry Club, took a bus full of students up to Fenway Park in Boston, Massachusetts. The group got to enjoy the day eating ballpark food as they watched the Boston Red Sox take on the Tampa Bay Rays.
Tuesday night, April 17, was the first showing of One for the Money in the Bartels Dining Hall. The movie stars Katherine Heigl, Jason O’Mara, and Daniel Sunjata.
And here’s what’s coming up this week:
The German Club will turn into a Roller Skating rink this Thursday, April 19, at 7:00 p.m. Bring a friend, and come roller skating until 10:00 p.m. Roller skates will be provided, or you can bring your own.
Friday night, April 20, go see the magician for ‘non-believers,’ Peter Boie at 7:30 p.m. in the Alumni Lounge. Peter Boie describes his performance as “Creating an atmosphere where you stop thinking whether it’s real or not, and you just enjoy it.”
After the Peter Boie show, go downstairs to the Bartels Dining Room for the second showing of One for the Money which starts at 9:00 p.m. Popcorn will be provided!
This Saturday, April 21, SCOPE will be going to Six Flags Great Adventure in New Jersey. If you were on the original trip in the fall, you are automatically on this one. Sign-ups for open spots will be on Wednesday, April 18 at 9:00 p.m. on Charger Connection.
Looking for something to do during the day? Tuesday, April 24 from 12:00 – 4:00 p.m. in the Bartels Programming Space is ‘What’s In a Name?’ Come out and make personalized street signs, leather bracelets, and rice necklaces.
Also this Tuesday, come hear Jacy Good at 7:30 p.m. in the Alumni Lounge. She will be talking about how one driver’s decision to text while driving turned her life upside down.
After Jacy Good, head on over to the Bartels Dining Hall for the first showing of Contraband, which starts at 9:00 p.m. This action packed movie stars Mark Wahlberg, Giovanni Ribisi, and Kate Beckinsale.
