The School Year is winding down. March ends this week, and April is right around the bend. SCOPE has a lot of fun filled activities you can enjoy. But first let’s update you on what happened at the end of last week.
On Thursday March 22, SCOPE brought in Ridgeway and Johnson. They did illusions and escapes that mesmerized the audience, and one lucky person won tickets to see Cee Lo Green in Concert at Foxwoods Casino.
On Friday March 23, SCOPE had two events on campus and one off-campus trip. There was the happy golfing event in the Bixler-Botwinik Quad, where students enjoyed a nine-hole game of mini golf. Also on Friday, we had our weekly showing of Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol in The Bartels Dining Hall. There was also a trip to the Harford XL Center to see the Connecticut Whale against the Portland Pirates.
On Saturday March 24, SCOPE had an Indie Hip-Hop Fest in the German Club. The acts for the evening were Dan Dillinger, Signs of Rozetta, and Astronautalis.
Now we will update you on the events that happened earlier this week. On Monday March 26, SCOPE’s Comedy Week began! We kicked things off with bringing in The Upright Citizens Brigade in the Alumni Lounge. They wowed audiences and made everyone laugh. I think everyone enjoyed the performance. On Tuesday March 27, Comedy Week continued with our first showing of Happy Feet 2. This showing came with an ice cream sundae bar.
Come see the rest of Comedy Week this week and all the other events SCOPE has to offer.
On Wednesday March 28, Comedy Week continues with Comedy Fun Fest in the Bartels Programming Space. Come experience a funny photo booth, get balloon animals, and even enjoy watching a mime. Also at 9:00 p.m., there will be signups for both a trip to the Hartford Funny Bone Comedy Club and a trip to See Avenue Q in New York City.
On Thursday March 29, Comedian Elliot Chang is going to perform standup comedy in the German Club at 7:30 p.m. On Friday March 30, SCOPE will have another showing of Happy Feet 2 at 9:00 p.m. in The Bartels Dining Hall.
On Saturday March 31, SCOPE and MEISA will be bringing Caspian to perform in the German Club. Doors will open at 8:30 p.m. and the show will start at 9:00 p.m. Plus, Comedy Week will continue with the Roast of USGA President Scott Kazar at 7:30 p.m. in Dodds Theater.
