February is nearing the end and March is approaching quickly. SCOPE is still holding the events to keep you out of the cold and to keep you entertained.
On Friday February 17, SCOPE brought back Jim Spinnato for a Rated-R version of his performance. Dodds Theater was packed, and everyone enjoyed the great performance. Also on Friday, we had our weekly showing of the Rum Diary. Students enjoyed free popcorn and enjoyed another good movie.
On Saturday February 18, SCOPE brought Lindsay Benner to perform her routine, and it amazed the audience.
In this week’s news, Monday February 20 started SCOPE’s Film Week. Each event every day is film related. Monday was Welcome to Hogwarts. We had a giant game of wizards chess, students were able to go inside Hogwarts through virtual reality pods, and even had the help of the UNH Quiddtich team to explain the game and spread the world on the club.
On Tuesday February 21, SCOPE co sponsored with the Criminal Justice Department and did a Reel Crime Series of The General in the moulton lounge. SCOPE also had its one showing this week of Twilight: Breaking Dawn Part 1.
SCOPE also has a lot more events to come and a lot for this upcoming week.
SCOPE continues its Film Week with its Find Nemo Event. Students will be able to make sand art and bring home their own version of “Nemo”. It is on Wednesday February 22 from 12:00 – 4:00 p.m. in the Programming Space. Students can also start registering for a trip to Prime Club in Wallingford Connecticut. On Thursday February 23, SCOPE and the gaming club will have a game night with movie themed board games from 6:00 – 10:00 p.m. in the Programming Space.
On Friday February 24, SCOPE will be having a prerelease of a grind house movie called The Victim at 8:00 p.m. in the Alumni Lounge.
On Saturday February 25, SCOPE will have two events happening simultaneously. First, SCOPE will be having a concert featuring the Tired and True, The Homestretch, Challenges, Casting Call, and The Wonder Years to headline. We are anticipating a lot of people so please remember to bring your UNH IDs, and if anyone is bringing their one guest please make sure you sign them in.
Also, SCOPE will be hosting a Murder Mystery Dinner as part of Film Week. You MUST sign up on charger connection for this event and sign ups are over by the February 22.
On Sunday February 26, SCOPE will end Film Week off with an Oscar Party. It is a black tie event so please dress professionally since the best dressed can win a prize. Doors open at 8:00 p.m. in the Alumni Lounge.
On Tuesday February 28th, SCOPE will have on 2 events. First, SCOPE will have you “Walking in a Winter Wonderland” with mugs on mugs and tie pillows. It will be from 12-4 in the Programming Space. Also, SCOPE and Black Student Union will have its one showing of For Colored Girls to end Black History Month at 9pm in Bartels Dining Hall.
