School has been going on very smoothly, and so have the events for SCOPE. It was Rock and Roll Week this past week, and we had a lot of events going on.
On Wednesday, we had the “Can You Name that Rock Tune?” game show in the Bartels programming space. A lot of people showed up, and we gave a way Visa gift cards to the winners for getting certain questions correct. The questions were about Rock and Roll and current artists. Also on Wednesday, students were able to sign up online to take a trip to the Big E. The Big E is the largest Northeast Festival that is held in Massachusetts.
On Thursday, we had the “Rock it Like a Rock Star” event in the Bartels programming space. Students were able to get air-brushed tattoos and put themselves on the cover of magazines!
On Friday, we showed Fast Five again in the Bartels Dining Hall. We passed out popcorn and everyone enjoyed what was a very good movie. Also, we had Rockin’ with Brian O’Sullivan in laughter and enjoyment of a great performance. Additionally, students who signed up on Wednesday were able to go to the Big E on Friday afternoon.
On Saturday, we had karaoke. Students were able to sing their hearts out to their favorite songs. Also, Saturday was the big Livewire AC/DC Tribute Band to end Rock and Roll Week. Students had a blast and enjoyed the event.
On Monday, students got to experience a second childhood in our Blast from the Past Event. Students got to experience bouncy inflatables and be like a kid again.
On Tuesday, we brought in Harlan Cohen in the Alumni Lounge. Harlan Cohen is the author of “The Naked Roommate,” and he came in to talk and perform about his book. Students received a SCOPE backpack and four lucky students received gift cards in their backpacks. Also, one lucky student received an Xbox 360 and Kinect system. Also, we showed Transformers: Dark of the Moon.
Coming up this week, we have events that all students will love. On Friday, September 30, we are doing a Mall Cop Day from 12:00-4:00 p.m. in the Quad. You will be able to get your own mall cop badge and be able to ride a Segway. You will also receive SCOPE sunglasses at the event.
Also, if you missed Tuesdays showing, we are reshowing Transformers: Dark of the Moon at 9:00 p.m. in the Bartels Dining Hall.
Then on Tuesday October 4 at 9:00 p.m., we are having our monthly Beanhouse and showing Bad Teacher. Beanhouse will be in the Bartels Programming Space, and Bad Teacher will be in the Bartels Dining Hall.
