Everyone is getting back into the swing of things, mainly getting up early and staying up late. That means more time to spend with SCOPE and all the different events we host.
Last Wednesday, people were able to win dorm supplies by coming to our event called Cash Cube. It was a nice way to start off the year, especially getting free supplies that you may still need to buy.
On Thursday at 7:30 p.m. in Dodds, we had comedian Nore Davis, who kept everyone laughing throughout the night with his jokes. No one was disappointed about going to that show.
On Friday in the Bartels Programming space from 6:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m., we had some interesting events. Anyone interested in some fish? How about making your own air freshener? Students brought plenty of things back to their dorms to help spruce them up a little bit, including Asian name art. Now remember to feed your fish if you brought one home.
Our second showing of the Hangover 2 was in Bartels Dining Hall on Friday as well at 9:00 p.m. Everyone enjoyed it just as much as the first time. This week we had the movie Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides on Tuesday, and we will be showing it again on Friday as well in Bartels at 9:00 p.m.
Also coming up this week, be sure to visit the New Hall Patio to play mini golf. See if you can get a hole in one and beat your friends on Friday starting at 6:00 p.m.
Are there any sports fans on campus? SCOPE is having a Sports Night on Saturday in the Bartels programming space starting at 6:00 p.m. Even if you don’t love sports, come on out to create bumper stickers, air brushed hats, and custom pennants.
And finally, the campus event we have all been waiting for will take place this Sunday from 1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. in the Quad. It’s Double Dare! Come watch your friends and classmates answer questions and complete obstacles. While you’re watching, enjoy cotton candy and snow cones and cheer for your favorite team.
SCOPE has many different events planned for this semester, and if you want to be a part of SCOPE and the planning, come to K109 Wednesdays at 9:30 p.m. See what it’s all about and see what you can do to be a part of it all.
