Easter is over, and I hope everyone had a good time and ate lots of food. (I did, especially because I had two Easter dinners.) On the bright side, Spring Weekend is only two days away! There is the Concert on Friday, Carnival and Comedian on Saturday, and Drive-In Movie on Sunday. Also, the events leading up to this weekend were just as fun.
The movie last week was The Green Hornet, starring Seth Rogan and Cameron Diaz. It was action and comedy combined into two hours for the makings of a fantastic movie. Not only was there a movie but on Tuesday, Film Committee gave away prizes, and on Friday they had pizza and wings. A movie and free stuff always makes for a great night. Come out to the Drive-In Movie on Sunday, May 1 in the Quad at 9:00 p.m. for Just Go With It and more free giveaways and food.
Day Programming also brought fun to campus with their event last week. On Wednesday, in the New Hall Game Room, they had skeeball, where if you scored 230 points, you won a prize, and Spin to Win, where if you finished the puzzle you won a prize. SCOPE is just going prize crazy this week! A lot of the students that had lunch in New Hall played some games and walked away with some great UNH gear. Don’t miss Day Programming’s last event for the semester: the Relaxation Package on Wednesday, May 4 from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. in the Programming Space. There will be massages, a chocolate fountain, gel art, a caricaturist, and more for students to feel relaxed before finals start.
With the end of the year so close, all the committees are getting down to their last events. This weekend, we had the last Weekend Programming events. But like Weekends always does, they went out with a bang. On Friday, they celebrated Earth Day by having Greenheads and Eco-Friendly bracelets. Students made bracelets out of recycled balloons and also got to take home their very plant with a face. Saturday was another day of celebration, as Weekends celebrated Easter with an Easter Egg Hunt, where they gave away prizes like ipods, GPS’s, and a TV. It was a sad but fun weekend and Weekend Programming went out with some great hits.
This week, SCOPE also had the last Comedy and Lecture event. On Monday, they brought Female O, which is always a campus favorite. This is a great program for students to learn about themselves and others. Students learned a lot and walked away with something to talk about for days. For Spring Weekend, Comedy and Lecture is bringing Ralphie May to the North Campus Gymnasium on Saturday, April 30. The doors open at 7:00 p.m., and the show starts at 8:00 p.m.
And finally, the day we have all been waiting for is finally here: Spring Concert. For Spring Concert, we are having David Nail, We The Kings, and Far East Movement up at the North Campus Gym. There will also be a Cupcake Truck starting at 5:00 p.m. for those that decide to show up early. Buses start going up to North campus at 4:30 p.m. The doors open at 7:00 p.m. and the show starts at 8:00 p.m. Tickets are on sale for the rest of the week at the Bartels Tables. On Saturday, there is the Spring Carnival from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. up at North Campus. Come on up for rides, fried foods, games, massages, novelties, and more! See you all there!
