This week was a pretty slow week for SCOPE, compared to our last couple of weeks, but there were still some great events going on. Film of course had their weekly movie and Weekends put on some great weekend events for everyone.
As always, we are going to start with Film, who showed The Other Guys this past week. The movie starred Will Ferrell, Mark Wahlberg, and Eva Mendes. Ferrell and Wahlberg play two detectives that are stuck doing paperwork because of mistakes they have made in the past; now they want to step up to the next level. But of course, with any movie that stars Will Ferrell, things don’t necessarily go as planned. The movie was filled with a bunch of hilarious moments that left the audience laughing for days. Sadly, this week Film is not showing a weekly movie, but is instead taking a trip to the midnight showing of Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows Part 1. It’s going to be a great trip!
There was also a great time had by a lot of students that joined Weekend Programming this past weekend for their events. On Friday, they had an old time favorite of the campus, pottery painting. Students were able to paint mugs, bowls, figurines, and other forms of pottery however they wanted. Then Weekends dropped them off so they could get put in the kiln. In a couple weeks, they will comeback all done and glossed for students to put on display in their rooms. It’s always a great event.
On Saturday Weekends took a trip to see the Bridgeport Sound Tigers play the Norfolk Admirals. It was a great and intense game; both teams played really well. However the Sound Tigers played just a little bit better, because they won the game three to two.
Next weekend, there are some more great events coming up when they bring “Smarter Than A Freshman” the game show to campus on Friday, November 19 at 7 p.m. in the Alumni Lounge and then on Saturday, Novmber 20 The Dear Hunter and Moving Mountains Concert is in the German Club at 7 p.m.
There are only a few more weeks left in the semester, which means there are only a few more events. So come get your fill of SCOPE before we leave for Winter Break at some of these great events:
