Whooooooo! Halloween weekend was a blast, from the movie all the way into Sunday night when SCOPE’s Annual Haunted House was the place to be.
This week, Film brought those famous and adorable vampires that every girl on this campus flips over to campus. Eclipse was like a girls night out; there were the funny moments, the sad moments, and, of course, the romantic moments between Bella and Edward and between Bella and Jacob. It was great time and a good movie to start off Halloween weekend. This week’s coming Film will be Inception with Leonardo DiCaprio on Tuesday and Friday in Bartels Café at 9 p.m. Bring your thinking caps.
Weekend Programming also had some great Halloween themed events going on this weekend. On Friday, they had Pumpkin Painting and Carving, where students had a great time reliving childhood memories of painting and carving pumpkins. There were even first timers who joined in the festivities and had a ball scooping out pumpkin guts and carving one of those famous jack-o-lantern faces. SCOPE Committee Heads even joined in and made a SCOPE and Halloween themed pumpkin of their own. On Saturday, the fun kept rolling with Weekends Spookie Scavenger Hunt. There were a few teams that came out and took a walk around in the dark looking for carved pumpkins, big red leaves, a giant banana, a werewolf, and some other really great Halloween items. This weekend is going to be filled with a fun Game Night on Friday from 6-8 p.m. in the Faculty Dining Room, and on Saturday they have Robert Channing: Mind Reader in Dodds starting at 7 p.m.
Of course Halloween wouldn’t be Halloween without SCOPE’s Annual Haunted House, which was also joined by a Haunted Carnival. Once we got over some mishaps on Sunday, everything went off without a hitch. Students came in their scary, pretty, and just plain out there costumes to go through the Haunted House that the SCOPE Halloween/Carnival Committee put on. Walking through the Haunted House, students met creepy demon babies, evil clowns, deranged scientists, and your other everyday monsters. The screams were heard all over campus. If the students made it out of the Haunted House, they were able to have more fun by playing some Halloween themed carnival games to win some tickets to get some Halloween themed prizes. This year was different than past years, but it went over really well. So give the SCOPE Halloween/Carnival Committee a big hand for making Halloween scary.
Also, this week coming up, join Day Programming for some Fun in the Sun. If you miss the warm weather already come to the Alumni Lounge from 12:30-4:30 p.m. for “Make Your Own Flip Flops”, Sand Art, and beach fun.
