PUERTO VALLARTA
Puerto Vallarta is a Mexican restaurant located at 377 Boston Post Rd., Orange Conn. I, along with a friend, decided to try the place out for dinner. We went on a Thursday night and were seated right away by a friendly waiter. Almost immediately, we had chips and salsa on the table. Since we were so hungry, we greatly appreciated that! The restaurant was busy but not packed, and had a friendly, casual atmosphere with nice decorations.
The menu was moderately priced. We decided to start with an appetizer to share, called “Super Nachos con Carne”. This consisted of chips, beans, guacamole, tomatoes, cheddar cheese, sour cream, onions and Mexican-style sausage. We enjoyed it very much. The portion was decently sized for the price.
For my entrée, I decided to get the “Deluxe Burrito.” I was told that this was one of Puerto Vallarta’s specialties. I found that it lived up to its expectations. This delicious burrito was filled with chicken cheese, lettuce, guacamole, sour cream, tomatoes and onions. Warmed to just the right temperature, I was satisfied with this flavorful burrito for the price.
My dining buddy on the other hand, is a big steak fan. He decided to try out Puerto Vallarta’s skirt steak, which was also marked as one of their house specialties on the menu. Called “Carne Azada”, this flame-broiled skirt steak was served with guacamole and warm tortillas. To his surprise, the skirt steak was pretty good. He gave it a four and a half star rating. It was very flavorful, and cooked just how he asked.
Since they served us such good portions of food, we didn’t even have room for dessert! So we asked to get the rest boxed up to have for lunch the next day. Before we left, it seemed like the entire restaurant said goodbye and to have a nice night. Everyone was very friendly and made us feel welcome. Overall, we had a very good experience at Puerto Vallarta. I recommend that this restaurant is definitely worth checking out.
