I am pleased to announce that starting next semester I will be writing a regular column in the Charger Bulletin to promote dialogue around issues that impact our campus community and that are important to you as students. I want to thank everyone who joined me and Dean of Students Becky Johnson and her staff for a
meeting before Thanksgiving break to discuss our campus climate and ways to strengthen our community and make it even more inclusive and welcoming. I very much value your insight, and I appreciate your candor.
I encourage you to share your thoughts and feelings with me on topics, questions or concerns you would like me to address. I would also welcome the opportunity to speak with your campus club or organization about issues that are important to you. You can email your ideas and suggestions to [email protected].
As President, one of my primary responsibilities is playing an active role in helping to cultivate a campus community that is open-minded and tolerant. This is a commitment that I take very seriously.I will do all that I can to encourage civil discourse and an open exchange of ideas around important issues that affect our campus, our state, our nation and our world. I am grateful for your ongoing engagement and your spirited participation. I hope you will reach out to me by emailing [email protected].
I look forward to continuing to work together to create a campus environment that best represents the values and ideals that form the cornerstone of our community.
