Home Sweet Home
Ciao,
This semester is coming to an end and it’s a bittersweet feeling. I’m so excited to go home and see my family and friends and be able to go to stores any time of the day and eat dinner before 8 p.m. and have more options then just Italian food.
But I’m also going to miss the amazing people and places I’ve met and been to in Italy.
I’m going to miss being able to get on a plane and go anywhere in Europe. I’m going to miss the amazing scenery and food Italy has. It’s going to be so strange to not be able to walk anywhere I want and having to drive. It’s so crazy how fast this semester has gone by and how many incredible things I’ve been able to do. I got to ride camels in Morocco, see the ancient ruins in Rome, volunteer at a local school, go to Auschwitz in Poland and just live in another country for four months.
Sometimes things have been tough and frustrating and other times, things have been amazing and eye-opening. I feel I have been more confident and independent from this experience.
These last four months have forever changed me and I’m so grateful for this experience. I’m so ready to be home though. All that’s left are finals, presentations and essays…and I also have to pack all of my stuff back up.
Thank you for reading about my travels through Italy and Europe. Have a safe and happy summer!
Tante saluti da,
Jess
