November is National Native American Heritage Month, and to celebrate this SCOPE Day Programming planned an event on Monday, November 28 to show appreciation for this month. Day Programming brought dream catchers and henna tattoos to the Programming Space for students to celebrate.
A lot of students came out on Monday to make their own dream catchers. Each student was taught how to make a dream catcher and then had the opportunity to do so. Students made their dream catchers to fit their personality, and each one came out different and amazing. There were different colors for the rings, and then each student could pick the color of the thread and decorate them with beads and feathers.
Every student walked out of there with their own dream catcher from the Programming Space. Dream catchers are objects that attract good dreams, so you can sleep peacefully. It is also supposed to catch bad dreams and gets rid of them. So students should have some good nights of sleep coming.
Also at the event, there were henna tattoos to give some people a tribal effect. Students had the opportunity to choose their own design, and they all came out great. Everyone was really excited to get a temporary tattoo.
Overall, it was a great event, and all the students walked away with a great tattoo and a helpful friend for sleeping. Sweet dreams UNH!
