Banoffee Pie

What You Need:
– 2 pre-made graham cracker pie crusts

– 1 (14 ounce) can of sweetened condensed milk

– 1 standard container of cool whip (8 ounce)

1) Put the entire of can of condensed milk into a pot of boiling water for 4 hours. Make sure the can is completely submerged into the water. Flip the can upside down every hour to prevent burning and settling.

2) After cooling, open the can of condensed milk to reveal a beautiful caramelized toffee; spread the toffee evenly into the bottom of the graham cracker piecrust.

3) Peel and slice the bananas evenly

4) Load the bananas onto the toffee until it is completely covered, and then some

5) Spread cool whip to cover the pie completely

6) Cut and enjoy!

Food Critic’s Review:

This pie is a winner in my book. Usually I end up being disappointed by pies with pudding-like fillings because they just aren’t ever as good as I want them to be, but despite this pie’s similar look to a pudding based pie, the flavor is a different story. The sweetened condensed milk is the perfect amount of sweet, and when it’s caramelized, the awesome factor gets beefed up. The bananas in this almost make me think of Bananas Foster because they end up coated with the toffee as you eat it, making for a winning combination. If you have a few hours to put this together, I definitely recommend it; you won’t be disappointed!
