RINDGE, N.H. – The University of New Haven women’s tennis fell 7-2 in the Northeast-10 Conference match at Franklin Pierce University Saturday afternoon. With the loss, the Chargers fall to 0-3 overall and 0-3 in the Northeast-10 Conference. Franklin Pierce improved to 1-1 overall and 1-1 in the NE-10.
The Chargers earned points in No. 3 singles when Nan Sirihorachai (Plainsboro, N.J./West Windsor-Plainsboro North) defeated Drew Alexander 2-6, 6-2 (10-8). Martha Petzoldt (Westfield, Vt./North Country Union) also won in tiebreak fashion in No. 4 singles. The freshman won 0-6, 6-2 (10-6).
New Haven returns to action on Thursday, September 29 when they host Stonehill College. Game time at Amity High School is set for 3:30 p.m.
