FAIRFIELD, Conn. – Propelled by an 18th place finish by Dominique Stasulli (Shenandoah, Pa./Shenandoah) the University of New Haven women’s cross country team finished in fifth place at the 35th Annual Father Victor F. Leeber, S.J. Invitational Saturday at Fairfield University. The team totaled 173 points and was fifth out of nine teams.
Stasulli finished with a time of 20:14.44 and was 18th. The next three finishers for the Chargers were Aimee Beaudette in 43rd place with a time of 21:04.50, Danielle Sorrentino (Staten Island, N.Y./Port Richmond) in 45th place with a time of 21:08.46 and Alejandra Cortez with at time of 21:10.69. Rounding out the top five for UNH was Bridget Faria (East Meadow, N.Y./East Meadow) in 58th place with a time of 21:59.32, while #Samantha Mathewson posted a time of 24:33.45 in 83rd place.
The Chargers return to action on Saturday, October 8 when they travel to Boston, Mass. to compete in the 2011 New England Championships.
