Dear Fellow Students,
My name is Jake Pollock. I am currently a junior here studying criminal justice and fire science. I was elected into USGA as the Commuter Issues Committee Head. I am a commuter myself, but I was a resident in Soundview last year. I am very excited to help everyone here at the University with this position.
The purpose of this committee is be a liaison between the student body, mainly commuters, and USGA. I go to the right people to get things done. Also I hold events to benefit the commuters. If you haven’t heard of my committee, we passed out commuter kits earlier last semester.
I also took information from you on what should be changed here on campus. The majority of you said parking was an issue. Unfortunately, from what I have been told, new parking lots and a parking garage are very expensive. Unfortunately for us, we will not see a parking garage while we are students here. There are plans in the future to acquire more parking lots and possibly a garage.
Additionally, did that pothole outside the library on Ruden Street bother you? Well I took care of that. Do you think there should be motorcycle parking? I’m working with Ron Quagliani so motorcycles can have their own parking, leaving more spots for us!
I want you all to feel free to contact me so we can solve some issues on campus. I have some great plans for the future and definitely would like to help everyone out, not just the commuters.
Keep a look out for some more free giveaways and better ways to help us commuters. If you have any questions, comments, or concerns don’t hesitate to email me at [email protected] or submit a complaint on charger voice! Hope everyone has a great semester!
