The women’s volleyball team wrapped up the regular season on Nov. 9 when they hosted Bentley for their senior night. They won by three sets to zero with the scores of 25-22, 25-23 and 25-15.
The Chargers’ final regular season record was 24-1 overall, and 15-0 in the Northeast-10.
Senior Keidy Candelaria led the team with 11 kills, and Kristen Lee had a .563 hitting percentage (10-1-16) and posted 10 finishers.
Kristy Atufunhad had four kills, and teammate Amber Cannady had six kills total.
Kaulana Ane totaled two kills and distributed 23 assists. Kea-Marie Olaso led the Chargers defense with the team-high ten digs. Senior Bai Zhang and Kristen Kee had seven digs in the back row of the court, while Ashley Dalton had a helping hand in four of the seven-team blocks.
With this victory, New Haven is ranked in the number one seed for the Northeast-10 Conference Championships and will start the postseason on Tuesday, Nov. 13, as they take on number eight seed Stonehill at 7 p.m. in the Charger gymnasium.
