The number one seed women’s volleyball team faced off against the number eight seed Stonehill College on Nov. 13. The Chargers held on to the top seed in the tournament when they edged Stonehill College three sets to two sets.
Set one went to Chargers with a score of 25-20, and set two also went to the Chargers with a score of 25-16. The Chargers fell in the third set with a close score of 29-31.
Stonehill came back and also won set four by a score of 22-25. The Chargers bounced back during set five to break the two-to-two tie with a score of 15-8.
Keidy Candelaria led with 18 kills, which was a match best. Kristen Lee had 13 kills and 19 digs, while Amber Cannady assisted in seven of the nine blocks for the Chargers and registered 14 kills.
Kristy Atufunwa slammed eleven finishers. Offensively for the Chargers, Kaulana Ane led the team with 50 assists, 14 digs, and seven kills. Teammates Ashley Dalton and Kea-Marie Olaso both had one kill apiece. Olaso also led the back row with 25 digs, and Bai Zhang assisted with 21 digs.
