Breaking Dawn-Part 2 started right where Part 1 left off, and did not disappoint in the slightest. It had some humor mixed with drama that would have you jumping out of your seat for the majority of the movie.
Before seeing Breaking Dawn-Part 2, you might want to refresh your memory with what had happened in the previous movies. But if you haven’t seen the movies in a while, you won’t be completely lost throughout the film.
Here’s a bit of the need-to-know information from the previous movies: Bella is a human who falls in love with a vampire named Edward Cullen. Drama happens throughout the first three films that bring the couple closer together, including Bella falling in love with a werewolf named Jacob, and a close encounter with the Volturi, who are basically vampire royalty and make sure the existence of vampires remains a secret. Bella and Edward get married and wind up conceiving a child accidentally. Bella comes extremely close to dying during childbirth, but Edward manages to get enough vampire venom in her system to turn her into a vampire. Jacob, the werewolf, winds up imprinting on Edward and Bella’s child. Imprinting is very similar to love at first sight, but has a much stronger bond.
Breaking Dawn-Part 2 opens with the same scene that Part 1 ended with—Bella opening her eyes, which have now turned red because she has transformed into a vampire. The major conflict of this movie occurs when someone mistakes Edward and Bella’s daughter, Renesemee, for an immortal child (which was outlawed by the Volturi many years ago). The person who mistakenly identified Renesmee as an immortal child reported their “crime” to the Volturi, who then decide to go and punish everyone involved.
The movie follows the Cullen clan as they scour the planet looking for everyone and anyone who would be willing to witness that Renesmee is in fact half human, half immortal and, therefore, not the threat that the Volturi believe her to be.
There are tons of new faces to go along with the familiar old ones. Some of the new faces include actor Rami Malek (Night at the Museum), two-time Golden Globe nominee Lee Pace (Pushing Daisies) and Mackenzie Foy as Renesmee. There are also all the familiar faces of the Cullen family.
Breaking Dawn-Part 2 is a rollercoaster ride full of twists and surprises that you will not see coming, and it will have you screaming at the screen. With a mind-blowing ending that everyone’s talking about, how could you not see this movie?
