The day of love has come again, and this year SCOPE celebrated it with photos, flowers, and chocolate. On Tuesday, February 14 from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. in the Alumni Lounge, SCOPE Day Programming put on this event with a Valentine’s Day theme in mind.
What women wouldn’t want chocolate, flowers, and photos to remember the moments on Valentine’s Day? Well SCOPE Day Programming brought all that to the Alumni Lounge with that in mind. First, there was chocolate, and not just any chocolate; there was a chocolate fountain. Students had the opportunity to pick from an array of items, such as marshmallows, pretzel sticks, cream puffs, bananas, and of course strawberries; then they were able to cover them in chocolate. Covering food in chocolate just makes the food ten times better, and every student that came in and had some would agree.
Of course there was more, although the event would have been a success with just the chocolate fountain. However, it was made better by some of the SCOPE staff teaching students how to make paper flowers. Students could pick the colors they wanted to create their one of kind personal flower, and then learned how to do so from the great teacher at SCOPE, Emily McGinty. Each student was amazed that something that came out so beautiful was just made from tissue paper and a pipe cleaner.
And last but not least, what is a day full of chocolate and arts and crafts if you can’t remember it with a photo? So the event also had photos where students were able to pick out a Valentine’s Day themed frame. It was a great themed event and SCOPE Day Programming has more planned for the rest of the semester so be on the lookout for flyers on Charger Connection.
