The American Criminal Justice Association (ACJA), Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity, and Chi Kappa Rho Sorority of the University of New Haven will host a toy drive on Monday, Dec. 9 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the West Haven Walmart, 515 Saw Mill Road.
The West Haven Police Department and the University of New Haven will each provide a police cruiser that people can stuff with unwrapped toys. The toys will be donated to Yale-New Haven Children’s Hospital Toy Closet Program, which provides children admitted to the hospital with a gift intended to take their minds off their illness, sickness, or treatment.
This is the fourth year that Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity has coordinated the fund drive.
“This drive has been extremely successful in the past, and we are hoping that this year people will continue to be especially generous,” said Ryan Irons, president of ACJA. “We are grateful to the two police departments for their help.”
