WEST HAVEN–ESPN is one of the biggest names in sports communications. Rosa Gatti, who will be speaking at the semi-annual Bartels Lecture at 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 2 in Dodds Theatre, is the woman who made ESPN a household name.
As ESPN’s longtime communications director, Gatti built the ESPN brand to where it is today. She will talk about the experience of building a successful brand, weaving in stories about her job as the first female sports information director at her alma mater, Villanova, then at Brown University.
Members of the audience will have the opportunity during a question-and-answer session to ask her if it’s true that ESPN job applicants have to ace a sports trivia test in order to be hired at the network.
The entire University community-students, faculty and staff-is encouraged to attend the lecture at 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 2 in Dodds Theatre. Admission is free.
