(New Haven, CT)– Kiwi Publishing is proud to announce the publication of Thin Threads: Teens & Young Adults, the series’ first edition compiled specifically for teens. The book will join the Thin Threads line of two anthologies, six special editions, and customized books online.
The book series was introduced in 2009 with the release of its flagship book, Thin Threads: Real Stories of Life Changing Moments, created and compiled by Stacey K. Battat. Similar to the previously published Thin Threads stories, the moments that make up the teen edition demonstrate what Battat describes as the “‘a ha’ instances” of life. Emphasizing the importance of connecting with each other and seizing opportunities, the Thin Threads stories for teens deliver hope and optimism during a period of turbulence and confusion.
“There is no period that better represents the fragility of our lives than young adulthood,” Battat said. “When teens are struggling and hanging on by a thin thread, these stories can help reveal the light at the end of the tumultuous tunnel of growing up.”
Battat has always loved to hear people’s stories, and as a mother of three teenage children, she is no stranger to the delicate moments that make up young adulthood. Through the website www.thinthreads.com created by Stacey and her husband, Eitan Battat, teens have the ability to submit their personal stories for publication. Submissions for “Teens & Young Adults” will be accepted through May 31, 2011.
During the month of February, teens are encouraged to participate in the “Share a Story, Share a Dinner” contest. Individuals who submit their personal Thin Threads love story for the young adulthood edition will automatically be entered in a raffle to win a $50 giftcard to Chilis. Stories must be submitted online by February 28 to qualify.
Aimed at harnessing teens’ attention and generating their interest, Battat and her co-editor plan to utilize popular social networking sites. Teens can learn more about the book by ‘liking’ the Thin Threads for Teens and Young Adults page on Facebook and following @ThinThreadsTeen on Twitter.
Stacey Krone Battat is a family education workshop facilitator and former broadcast journalist. She lives with her husband and three children in Woodbridge, CT and is available for media interviews, speaking engagements, and Thin Threads workshops.
