The Charger Bulletin is back, and we are ready to share stories, educate people and act as the go-between with the institution and student body. Some of you may have seen our blue boxes outside of buildings on campus or maybe some of you have picked up our paper every Tuesday. No matter how or why Charger Bulletin entered your radar, I hope it becomes a part of your college experience.
Whether you plan on being a journalist, student journalism improves your writing and reading skills that can put you above anyone in any job setting. The Charger Bulletin serves as a platform for expression and a sense of community within our campus.
Our campus is special, we all come from different states and even different countries. All of our voices deserve to be heard and celebrated.
If something excites you on campus, pick up a pen.
If something upsets you on campus, pick up a pen.
If something intrigues you on campus, pick up a pen.
There are around 5,000 students here with stories to tell and the Charger Bulletin is here to listen.
We are back with our first edition of the 2024-2025 school year, highlighting the opening week of New Haven sports, updates on the upcoming election and recapping Welcome Week. We are excited to get into the swing of things and produce content that is enjoyable yet informative.
The paper is split into five sections: politics, campus news, arts and life, sports and opinions. These are broad and flexible sections so anything related to those sections will be accepted into the paper. Everything from hard news stories, lighthearted features or game recaps have a place at the Charger Bulletin.
The Charger Bulletin staff is here to help any writers, photographers or content creators who want to get involved. If writing for a newspaper is not an interest of yours, Charger Bulletin News (CBN) or Horseshoe Magazine may be your calling.
CBN is a weekly broadcast that covers the top stories of each week on our campus and throughout the world. The show films in our own studio in the Bergami Science Center for Technology. They film their episodes every Thursday. If you’re interested in being on screen talent or working behind the scenes with graphics or cameras contact [email protected].
Horseshoe Magazine is our online longform journalism platform at New Haven. They have their own website that features literary pieces, investigative articles, photojournalism and features. If you are interested in Horseshoe magazine, please contact [email protected].
We are excited to see new writers in our bylines and watch you grow as writers and people. Being a part of these organizations gives you skills you will hold on to even after college. I encourage you to get involved no matter what your major or what you plan on doing after college. If you’re interested, please contact [email protected] and we will be there to help get you started.
