Detroit Lions @ Atlanta Falcons
Detroit came from behind after being down by 13 points to the Saints and pulled out a victory. They look to win their third straight game and hold their lead in the NFC North. The Falcons have struggled mightily this season. They have lost four straight games and hope to end that streak. Expect the Lions to go to Atlanta and take care of business.
San Diego Chargers @ Denver Broncos
Peyton Manning is officially the all time leader in passing touchdowns in the NFL. He led his team to an easy win over the 49ers. The Broncos continue to be one of the teams to beat in the league. San Diego saw its win streak come to an end with a loss to the Chiefs. The Chargers trail the Broncos by just one game in the AFC West. Expect the Chargers to make this a good game, but the Broncos will be too powerful.
@ Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Both these teams are having bad seasons. The Vikings just missed out on beating the Bills on Sunday. Instead they gave up a last second touchdown in the loss. Expect the Vikings to bounce back and win their third game of the season. Tampa Bay is coming off a bye. Expect the Vikings to win a close game.
Buffalo Bills @ New York Jets
Despite the Jets’ awful record, they have played their last two opponents (Broncos and Patriots) very well. They are last in the AFC East and most likely will only be able to spoil other teams’ playoff hopes. The Bills stand at 4-3, good enough for one game behind the Patriots for the division lead. Expect the Jets to get over the hump and take down a surprising Bills team.
Chicago Bears @ New England Patriots
The Patriots are on a roll after a slow start to the season. New England has won three straight games and looks to make that four straight. They survived a close game against the Jets on Thursday Night Football, blocking a last second field goal attempt. Meanwhile, the Bears are 3-4 and still in the mix for a postseason start. They need to string a few wins together first. Expect the Patriots to win a close game at home.
Seattle Seahawks @ Carolina Panthers
Seattle has lost two straight games and looks nowhere near the dominant team that won the Super Bowl last year. They suffered a loss to the Rams Sunday after the Rams pulled off two trick plays in the win. Seattle has the ability to bounce back and become dominant again. Carolina suffered an embarrassing loss to the Packers. However, they still lead the division as the rest of the teams lost or had a bye. Expect the Seahawks to pull away with a win and get back above .500.
Miami Dolphins @ Jacksonville Jaguars
The Dolphins are at .500 and are in the middle of the pack in the AFC. They hope to win their fourth game of the season when they take on the Jaguars. The Jaguars won their first game of the season Sunday against the Browns, which could be considered an upset. Expect this game to be close with the Dolphins coming away with a victory.
Baltimore Ravens @ Cincinnati Bengals
The Ravens are on a hot streak right now, and they hope to continue that streak against the Bengals. Baltimore has a hold on the division lead. The Bengals meanwhile have lost two and tied once in their last three games. Expect both teams to have a good game, with strong showings from their quarterbacks. The Ravens should win this game and stretch their division lead over the Bengals.
Houston Texans @ Tennessee Titans
Tennessee has been awful this year and couldn’t close out a win over the Redskins on Sunday. The Titans are at 2-5 after somewhat high expectations this season with quarterback Jake Locker. The Texans have the ability to make the playoffs despite being near the back of the pack in some offensive and defensive categories. The Texans hope that a win over the Titans will improve their chances on making the playoffs.
St. Louis Rams @ Kansas City Chiefs
The Rams are coming off a huge upset over the Seahawks, using their special teams to come away with the victory. In prior weeks, they came close to beating high-caliber teams. The Rams are underrated and look to win a second straight game. The Chiefs pulled out a win over a very good Chargers’ team. Kansas City probably has the upper hand in this game, but it is hard to pick against the Rams after their last few games.
Philadelphia Eagles @ Arizona Cardinals
The Eagles are having a good year and sit at 5-1. They are coming off a bye week and should be ready to go against a Cardinals team that has been good the last two seasons. The Cardinals also sit at 5-1, their lone loss coming to the powerful Denver Broncos. Expect this game to be exciting and close. The Eagles high-powered offense should prove too much for the Cardinals.
