Who will come out on top this season?
(Winning picks in BOLD)
San Francisco 49ers @ St. Louis Rams
-The 49ers have struggled mightily in their last two games but expect them to bounce back with an easy win over the Rams. Both the offense and defense need to improve in order for the 49ers to get their season back on track. Expect the Rams to put up a fight.
Minnesota Vikings @ Pittsburgh Steelers
-Pittsburgh had a valiant comeback effort against the Bears on Sunday Night Football. They look to try and use that momentum to get their first win of the season in London, England, against Minnesota. The Vikings suffered an embarrassing loss to the Browns and need Adrian Peterson to start gaining more yards per carry to help the offense.
Baltimore Ravens @ Buffalo Bills
-The Ravens finally showed some life after beating the Texans handily in Baltimore. Joe Flacco still needs to play better if the Ravens want to make it back to the playoffs this season. Expect the Bills to be competitive. The Bills have had a chance to win late in every game this season.
Cincinnati Bengals @ Cleveland Browns
-The Bengals’ 2-1 start hasn’t surprised anyone. They have been consistently improving the last couple years and hope to make noise come playoff time. They should roll over the lowly Browns. However, the Browns won their first game Sunday and hope to use that momentum to try and upset the Bengals.
Indianapolis Colts @ Jacksonville Jaguars
-Andrew Luck helped the Colts upset the 49ers. The Colts should win easily in Jacksonville. The Jaguars haven’t been able to get anything going this season, starting 0-3 and giving up the third most points in the NFL.
Seattle Seahawks @ Houston Texans
The Seahawks are playing like everyone thought they would be. Their defense has shut down the opposition, allowing the fewest points in the NFL. The Texans have been shaky in their first three games and are lucky to be 2-1. Expect a close battle with the Seahawks earning a win.
Arizona Cardinals @ Tampa Bay Buccaneers
-This game is a toss-up and could go either way. The Cardinals need to improve their defense if they want to come away with a win. The Bucs have been having internal issues with their coach and it is apparent their on-field performance has slumped as a result. Expect this game to come down to the wire.
Chicago Bears @ Detroit Lions
-The Bears are playing well under new coach Mark Trestman. The Bears should pull out a win in Detroit. The Lions have started out 2-1, but still need improve on both sides of the ball if they want to continue to win. Chicago should pick apart the Lions’ defense and score a lot of points.
New York Giants @ Kansas City Chiefs
-Kansas City has shocked the football world with their 3-0 start under new coach, Andy Reid. They have already passed last year’s win total. The Giants have been getting progressively worse and there is no solution in sight. Expect a blowout by the Chiefs in Kansas City.
New York Jets @ Tennessee Titans
-Both teams have started 2-1, a surprise to most. Expect the Titans to shut down the Jets. The Jets need their improved defense to step up if they want to pull out a win in Tennessee. Geno Smith needs to limit his turnovers. The game should be close, with the Titans winning.
Dallas Cowboys @ San Diego Chargers
-The Cowboys hold the lead in the NFC East and look to improve their lead with a win in San Diego. Dallas has what it takes to win the division. However, they need Tony Romo to be better under center. The Chargers have been up and down to start the season and look to get back to .500 with a win. This game should be a nail-biter, with the Cowboys coming out on top.
Washington Redskins @ Oakland Raiders
-RG3 looks to get his team in a win. Their 0-3 start is being blamed on him and he needs to prove that he can still play after a knee injury at the end of last year. The Raiders are an improved team this year, but expect the Redskins to win.
Philadelphia Eagles @ Denver Broncos
-Expect the Broncos to dismantle the Eagles. The Eagles’ up-tempo offense has stalled the last two weeks and Michael Vick has struggled. The defense has also been allowing entirely too many points. The Broncos are the best team in the NFL. Peyton Manning and the rest of the offense should put up plenty of points to beat the Eagles.
New England Patriots @ Atlanta Falcons
-Neither team has played up to expectations this season. The Patriots have a core of young receivers that finally looked ready for the NFL in a win over the Bucs. Atlanta has started 1-2 after losing to the Dolphins on Sunday. This game should be sloppy, but close. Atlanta should produce a win.
Miami Dolphins @ New Orleans Saints
-Both teams have started out 3-0, but the Saints’ powerful offense should prove too much for the Dolphins. Drew Brees throws for a lot of yards and opposing defenses have a tough time stopping him. Expect a close, exciting game on Monday Night Football with the Saints ultimately prevailing.
