2016 has been a great year for music and it keeps getting better. Check out these new alternative and indie releases that are shaping the sound of the fall season:
You’re Mine – Phantogram
“You’re Mine”, teaser to upcoming album Three releasing this Friday, is an electronic/pop trade-off of dialogue between a couple.
Trainwreck – Banks
28-year-old alternative artist Banks released the song Trainwreck, which borrows its verses from Banks when he was younger, with writing this raw, angry “stream of consciousness” at the age of 14.
Young – Cosmos & Creature
Brandyn Burnette and Molly Moore released their first single in which they reflect upon their carefree youth. Their soulful pop style has already caught the attention of many, and been spotlighted by Spotify.
Dead End Love – XYLØ
Sibling duo, XYLØ, accidentally started a band after being indirectly scouted by Kendall and Kylie Jenner. Dead End Love is their fourth single since their first release in early 2015.
Automatic – The Mowgli’s
We can not get enough this ballad from alt-rock band The Mowgli’s. This song describes how love and the connection between two people can be instant and feel Automatic.
666 ʇ – Bon Iver
The sixth track on Bon Iver’s new album 22, A Million is the sixth track on the Charger Bulletin playlist.
a million other things – Pronoun
Local Brooklyn artist Pronoun is a one-person band with a lot to say. “A million other things” is an honest, hopeful track that stemmed from a breakup.
Gameshow – Two Door Cinema Club
In celebration of Two Door Cinema Club’s new album Gameshow releasing next week, listen to the track that the album is named after.
Souls – Hippo Campus
Indie rock band Hippo Campus celebrates a time of naïveté in this song off their debut EP from 2014. If you like the song, don’t worry; more music is on the horizon.
