WORCHESTER–The University of New Haven women’s soccer team fell 3-0 in Northeast-10 Conference action Sunday afternoon, Sept. 28 against Assumption College. The Chargers fall to 5-4-1 overall and 3-2-0 in the NE-10 this season.
After holding the Greyhounds scoreless the entire first half the Chargers allowed three goals in the second half to drop their second NE-10 contest of the season. Assumption scored goals in the 48th, 65th and 75th minutes to secure their fourth victory of the season.
Selina Moylan had the Chargers best chance at scoring at the 65:52 mark when she riffled a shot that was saved by the Assumption goalkeeper. She had another scoring opportunity in the 83rd minute off a corner kick, but it sailed wide.
The Greyhounds out-shot the Chargers 13-5, including a 10-5 advantage in the second half. UNH attempted just one corner kick, while the Greyhounds tallied two attempts.
The Cahrger women’s soccer team returns to action on Wednesday, October 1 at 4 p.m. when they host UMass-Lowell at Kayo Field.
