This was another full week of great events that we planned for everyone on campus. Of course, there was the weekly movie, and Weekend Programming planned their great events, but this time we also had a comedian and a game show on campus.
This week’s movie was Get Him to the Greek, the hilarious comedy with Jonah Hill and Russell Brand. Hill and Brand were fantastic together, getting laughs out of the audience with the hilarious songs that Brand’s character, Aldous Snow, sang or the torture that Hill’s character, Aaron Green, is put through trying to get Snow to his performances on time. If you missed Brand and Hill last week, don’t worry because Jackie Chan and Jaden Smith are coming to campus this week in Karate Kid on Tuesday and Friday, 9 p.m. in Bartels.
On Thursday night, SCOPE’s Comedy and Lecture Committee brought Comedian Marcus to Dodds. The crowd that joined us for Marcus’ show laughed until they cried. His jokes hit the funny bone perfectly and had the crowd filling the theater with laughter the entire time. We can’t wait until Comedy and Lecture pick another great comedian to bring smiles to students’ faces.
You know who else brought smiles to students’ faces? Weekend Programming brought mini golf to campus and took students to SIX FLAGS!!! Mini golf was fantastic, especially because it was glow in the dark. Now that’s cool. Everyone that came was hanging out with friends, had a good time having little competitions with each other. And, of course, there was the big trip to Six Flags Great Adventure, the one in New Jersey. It was awesome, because there were cool rides, greasy, but amazing, food, cool games to play, prizes to win, and of course, for anyone that knows me, BATMAN. Yes, Superman was there too, but who cares about him.
If you think that the fun stops there, fasten your seatbelts, because there are more rides and greasy foods coming this weekend when we take a trip to the Big E, the biggest fair in the northeast all year, on Friday, September 24 at 4 p.m. We will also have Stuff-A-Bear on Saturday, September 25, in the Programming Space from 6-10 p.m.
This week we also had a 60 Seconds Game Show in the Alumni Lounge. It’s the game show based off of the new show Minute It to Win It. It wasn’t just a good time for the contestants; the audience had a laugh watching them play the little games to try and win some great prizes. It was tremendously mesmerizing. Every event this week was tremendous!
